J. Fletcher Willey, Jr., CPCU, AAI
Fletcher has been a North Carolinian all his life. He was born in Goldsboro, NC and graduated from Gates County High School in 1965. He enrolled at the University of North Carolina (UNC) where he majored in history, graduating in 1969. While attending UNC, he worked at the Louis Round Wilson Library and was elected president of his fraternity. Following graduation, he married Linda Emmett of Gastonia, NC. They have one son, Johnny Willey, who now resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife Cagny. Fletcher and Linda reside on Roanoke Island in Manteo. In his free time, he enjoys reading and traveling. After graduation from college, Fletcher became director of planning for a small chain of food stores in Chapel Hill. In 1974, he joined the Kellogg-Morgan Insurance Agency on the Outer Banks, taking charge of consolidating two existing agencies located in Manteo, NC. Later he became vice president of the agency. In 1993, he founded the J. Fletcher Willey Agency, Inc. The agency received national recognition from 1995 through 1997 for being a “Best Practices Agency.”
Fletcher holds the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) designations granted by the American Institute for Insurance. He is a past chairman of the Dare County Board of Education, former chairman of the Dare County Tourism Bureau, and has been president of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina.
Fletcher served as the chairman of the Flood Insurance Producers National Committee, an organization which advises the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on issues affecting the National Flood Insurance Program.
He also served on The Condominium Workgroup that will draft changes in the condominium program for associations and unit owners. He is actively involved in education, having served as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the College of the Albemarle.

Linda Willey
Linda Willey is a native of North Carolina and grew up in Chapel Hill. She moved to the Outer Banks with her husband, J. Fletcher Willey II, and son, Johnny, in 1974. Together they opened The Willey Insurance Agency in 1993. Today she is the co-owner and vice president of The Willey Agency, noted as one of the top 10 small independent agencies in the country. She was the first woman to receive the prestigious N.C. Independent Insurance Agent of the Year Award in 2009.
Her love of people and caring personality has led her to be invited and appointed to serve on many boards. Those boards include Roanoke Island Aquarium Advisory Board, The Outer Banks Hospital Development Council, Dare County Airport Authority, Food for Thought and the newly formed Hands of Hope, which helps bring specialized cancer care to Dare County and surrounding rural communities. She is also on the UNC Umstead Review Panel.
Highlights of her past accomplishments include serving as Chairperson for the Dare County American Red Cross, serving on the vestry at St. Andrews by the Sea Episcopal Church and serving on the N.C. Child Day Care Commission.
Linda considers her greatest accomplishment to be her son, Johnny, who resides in Raleigh with his wife, Cagny.

Adriane Little, CISR
Adriane joined The Willey Agency in 2010. She is a graduate of Mt. Saint Mary’s University in Maryland where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She and her husband Justin realized their dream of living at the beach in 2010. Prior to moving to the Outer Banks, Adriane taught third and fourth grade. She is looking forward to serving our clients and becoming actively involved in the Dare County community. Adriane enjoys reading, photography, playing sports, and spending time at the beach with friends and her Weimaraners, Finley and Blue.

Nikki Duncan
Nikki Duncan is a 1999 graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She began her insurance career with The Willey Agency in 2009.

Kente Ellen Gwyn, AAI, AIS, FLMI, ACS
Kente Ellen has worked in the insurance industry since 1985. She also holds a NC Life and Health Insurance license, but her concentration is property and casualty insurance. She is currently working toward her CPCU designation.
She moved to Hatteras Island from the Winston-Salem area of NC in 1996 and began working with The Willey Agency in 1998. In 2000, she opened a satellite office in Avon to focus on the needs of the residents and property owners of Hatteras Island.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking and reading.
